I suspect that rehearsal time had been spent more on the Triple at the expense of the Emperor. It might have been better for a conductor to be used for the Emperor allowing MacGregor to concentrate on the solo part.<br />I have never seen the Dome so full on a Sunday afternoon. Joanna MacGregor is an inspired choice as the BPO's musical director and there has been a real buzz at their concerts this season.Trevor Harveynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3215852098940709948.post-14408396867459065212020-03-03T08:40:24.178-08:002020-03-03T08:40:24.178-08:00Loved Loved LOVED your performance, bought the DVD...Loved Loved LOVED your performance, bought the DVD and will relive it mercilessly! Her voice was impeccable, certainly, but her delivery was unmatched. Communication is the perfect word to describe her interaction with the audience. She made the rather large room feel small and intimate, as though she telling me, and me alone, a story with that beautiful voice. I have never been so enthralled with a performer, ever, or since. I am so happy to hear that she continues to entrance her audiences with her magic. :-) Graysonnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3215852098940709948.post-45899003548060248842015-10-21T04:15:59.226-07:002015-10-21T04:15:59.226-07:00What a great line up this year! :-)What a great line up this year! :-)Ghttp://graysonbraxton.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/brighton.htmlnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3215852098940709948.post-74167101930771046682014-10-18T00:35:08.528-07:002014-10-18T00:35:08.528-07:00Wish you were too, Grayson!Wish you were too, Grayson!nicks-classical-noteshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12885952419258514454noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3215852098940709948.post-26023468361307302632014-10-17T15:21:13.665-07:002014-10-17T15:21:13.665-07:00Wish I was there, Nick.Wish I was there, Nick.Graysonhttp://graysonbraxton.blogspot.co.uknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3215852098940709948.post-47839520008575726152014-03-12T00:30:31.386-07:002014-03-12T00:30:31.386-07:00Many thanks, Susan! It is a wonderful way to enjoy great performances. We have only been once since my partner is not a big opera fan. It might be easier to talk him into it if that first experience wasn't a 21st century work that was pretty tough to sit through: "Dr. Atomic." It did have one aria that made the whole experience worth it: "Batter My Heart," from John Donne's Holy Sonnet XIV.TreeTop57noreply@blogger.com
